Acoustic duo

COVERED INK is an acoustic duo who formed in September 2016 for a charity event that was held to support a friend who passed away from motor neurone disease.

Since then this has become a hobby for the duo who share a love of music, laughs, people and good times. They appreciate crowd participation and try to accommodate everybody’s request as much as possible. This includes occasionally learning and playing new songs on the fly with the help of the ipad.

A couple of 'Open Mic' nights and weekly practices later, they now have a list that consisted of about 10 songs to choose from in September, to a list of over 120 songs ranging from the 60's to today’s upbeat sounds including, pop, funk, blues, rock, R&B, alternative and all the sing along classics while they continue to learn and perform more each week.

Ivan's natural vocals need to be seen to be heard. With a range that covers nearly every song on the planet, he is not afraid to use it either. No tricks are used, no vocal correction pedals, just pure, natural vocals. This has been proven time and time again during songs like 'Creep', 'Cry In Shame' & 'Purple Rain' as well as covering artists such as Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Creedence, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Diesel & Bob Marley.

Mick is a self-taught guitarist who loves music. Every song he hears he thinks of a way to add it to the song list. You can hear his trusty Maton strumming away gently to chilled, relaxing music and getting the workout of a lifetime when it’s called for. Tapping of feet is common in the crowd whilst Mick stomps away on his 'Stomp box' & foot tambourine, then when he adds the 'Looper' & 'Octave Pedal' into the equation, people look confused as to how an acoustic duo becomes a band. This is featured in songs like "Superstition', 'All Along The Watchtower' & 'Fly Away'.

COVERED INK - Acoustic Duo are available for weddings, parties, events and private functions. They enjoy supporting small businesses and the local community and have been fortunate to leave with raving revues from each venue they have played at.
